Of course. Absolutely.

We recognise any of the usual signals, plus you can tell us a favourite one of your own.

And we have a set of codes of our own that allow rather more communication than just a single distress call, even if you are very thoroughly gagged - we’ll make sure you have all the details well before a shoot.

On the other hand, even with most of the usual kinds of gags, a special signal isn’t really needed. If you say “Get me out of this NOW!” we’ll get the idea.

You should understand what happens if you use a safeword or any other “emergency release” signal. We will get you out of there as quick as is humanly possible.

Unless there is obviously some other major problem, we’ll start with the gag and anything else that might be impeding breathing - and if it doesn’t come off straight away, we won’t hesitate to cut and destroy.

We never tie anybody up without a comprehensive kit of cutting tools close to hand. We’ll cut rope off as well if it looks as if that’s what you want or need.

If there’s a real emergency it’s our responsibility so we’ll bear the cost of replacing anything that gets destroyed in getting you loose - but if it looks as if you called “emergency” without good reason, you may find your fee reduced to compensate us for the damage.

That’s why we very much encourage you to use our signal code or some other way of saying “I’m really not coping with this, please get me out” BEFORE it gets to the critical stage. You’ll still get rescued, but we’ll take a little more time and untie rather than cut. And your fee’s not at risk that way, unless you do it every tie and really mess up our chances of getting quality material out of the shoot.
