TFCD - Time For CD
Both mean a model working without being paid. Instead, she gets either finished photos or (these days) digital images and video on a CD. Generally, these are options for new models trying to get established or to extend their portfolios into new areas, or for “amateurs” maybe wanting to do a one-off shoot for the experience and a few memories.
We hear a lot of stories where six months later the photographer is still “too busy” to have delivered the promised material, or a model worked for hours and hours and only got a couple of smudgy out-of-focus 6x4 prints for it. And so on...
At Convolvulus, we do it differently. For a start, we aim to get the material to you within fourteen days. That’s what it says on the paperwork.
TFP/CD shoots are done in exactly the same way and to exactly the same standards as paid shoots. You get ALL the material - stills and video - that we consider suitable and good enough for release. The stills are at full size - usually 6MP before any cropping. You will share the rights with Convolvulus, which means that you can do just about whatever you like with the material. Post it anywhere, sell it, anything - including just keeping it for yourself. The only things you can’t do are to remove the Convolvulus watermark or to alter the images in any way apart from re-sizing. You can add your own watermark, or we’ll do it for you. No charge!
On the other hand, we at Convolvulus can also use the material, and it will appear on this site in due course, just like the results of any other shoot.
